Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Einari Kivi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Katsuo Watanabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watanabe has chosen Metallica - All Nightmare Long as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kivi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kivi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Kivi decides to return to a standing position.
Watanabe swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Watanabe gets the takedown into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Watanabe tries for a kimura but Kivi is defending well.

Watanabe goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kivi has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Watanabe but great work by Kivi.
You can see the frustration on Watanabe's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Watanabe takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Watanabe is not content to let Kivi control the position.
Watanabe is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Kivi off and has taken his back!

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Watanabe.

Watanabe is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Kivi has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Watanabe has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Kivi taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Watanabe doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Katsuo Watanabe!
