PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logan Kensing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stevenson comes to the cage accompanied by Higher Ground - Red Hot Chili Peppers. Kensing comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rock You Like a Hurricane kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Logan Kensing!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson tries for a takedown but Kensing sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Stevenson closes the distance and clinches up with Kensing, looking for a takedown. Stevenson pushes Kensing against the cage but Kensing circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Stevenson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kensing is able to avoid easily.
A head kick misses from Kensing.
Stevenson on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Kensing scores with a kick to the midsection.
Stevenson is breathing heavily.

Kensing throws a quick inside leg kick.
Kensing moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Stevenson drops his hands momentarily and Kensing takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kensing scores with a hook to the body. Stevenson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Stevenson gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kensing. Stevenson shrugs it off though.

Kensing drops Stevenson with a beautiful combination! Stevenson stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kensing is looking for the KO!

Stevenson is rocked!

It looks like Joseph Stevenson has been cut.
Stevenson takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Oh Stevenson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kensing chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Stevenson seems to have got his legs back now.

Kensing lands a left and a right that send Stevenson crashing to the mat, dazed. Kensing thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Stevenson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kensing - the referee stops the clock and Stevenson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kensing. Stevenson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Kensing lands a front kick.
Stevenson tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Kensing scores with a kick to the body.
Stevenson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kensing can pounce on him.
Stevenson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Good leg kick by Kensing there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Kensing. Stevenson shrugs it off though.
Kensing uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Stevenson has time to react.
Kensing ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Kensing bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Stevenson's head backwards.
Kensing moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Kensing throws a nice inside leg kick.
Kensing lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Kensing lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A thudding body kick lands there by Kensing!
Stevenson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Kensing fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Stevenson on the side of the head.
Kensing cracks the inside of Stevenson's front leg.
Kensing moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Kensing cracks Stevenson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Stevenson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Stevenson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Stevenson drops his hands momentarily and Kensing needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Stevenson just on the top of the head. Stevenson drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Stevenson - he's done!
