Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Gibbons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pepito Tshabalala!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibbons slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Tshabalala is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Tshabalala is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tshabalala tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gibbons swivels and escapes.

Gibbons closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Gibbons turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Tshabalala wants to control but Gibbons postures up.
Gibbons tries to advance to mount but Tshabalala denies him.
Tshabalala tries to buck Gibbons off but Gibbons is having none of it.
You can see the frustration on Tshabalala's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Gibbons is looking to take a break and control but Tshabalala is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tshabalala is trying to control Gibbons's posture but Gibbons avoids it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tshabalala is trying to improve his position.
Tshabalala gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gibbons is breathing heavily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tshabalala fails with the takedown.
Tshabalala takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Tshabalala gets caught flat footed, as Gibbons shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Tshabalala has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gibbons can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Tshabalala looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Gibbons is defending well. Tshabalala quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Gibbons has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Tshabalala celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
