The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett misses with a jab, cross combination.
No joy there for Barnett, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rightwood takes the fight into the clinch.
Rightwood's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rightwood gets a takedown into half guard.
Rightwood missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Rightwood wants to pass to mount but Barnett is defending the position.
Rightwood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Barnett misses with a combination
and Rightwood counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Rightwood seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Barnett does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Barnett wants to get back to his feet.
Barnett manages to escape and get back to his feet!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Rightwood's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A frustrated look appears on Barnett's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Rightwood tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Barnett smiles and moves away.
Buddy Barnett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Rightwood.
Barnett throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rightwood counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rightwood.
Rightwood loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Rightwood must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Barnett uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Barnett misses with a series of wild punches.
Rightwood closes the distance and clinches.
Rightwood jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barnett walks away with a smile on his face. Rightwood gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Barnett throws a right and a left that Rightwood avoids nicely.
Barnett looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Horrible takedown by Rightwood or perhaps it was just good defense by Barnett which made him look bad.
Rightwood slips a jab and a cross from Barnett.
Barnett throws a right hand that Rightwood ducks under and follows up with a left that Rightwood also avoids with ease.
Barnett falls off balance throwing a combination
so Rightwood counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rightwood stands up from Barnett's guard - Rightwood perhaps looking for a knockout.
Barnett swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rightwood fails with the takedown.
Barnett swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Barnett avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Barnett. No joy for Rightwood on that attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paul Rightwood dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Rightwood is looking to land body kicks.
Barnett swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Barnett looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rightwood throws a sloppy head kick and Barnett moves out of range easily.
Rightwood moves into the clinch.
Rightwood has Barnett pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Barnett manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Barnett has had enough of the clinch but Rightwood keeps him there for the moment.
Rightwood tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rightwood is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Buddy Barnett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Rightwood.
Rightwood keeps control of Barnett as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barnett thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Rightwood looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barnett is one step ahead there.

Barnett passes Rightwood's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Barnett is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Rightwood has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barnett is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Rightwood can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Rightwood gets back to half guard.
Rightwood trying to hold on to Barnett's head to control him but Barnett postures up.
Barnett in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Rightwood tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Barnett!
