PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ken Yoshida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jae Wilco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ken Yoshida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jae Wilco!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilco paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Yoshida misses with a takedown attempt - Wilco sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Wilco shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wilco showed some decent athleticism there.

Yoshida throws out a loose jab but Wilco uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wilco shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Yoshida as he jumps to the side.

Yoshida stalks Wilco and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Wilco's face. Wilco staggers backwards, shaken.
Yoshida will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Wilco throws a solid leg kick but Yoshida takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Wilco.
Horrible takedown by Wilco or perhaps it was just good defense by Yoshida which made him look bad.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wilco looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Yoshida with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well Wilco has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
