Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lispen Familia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oderus Masatoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masatoshi throws a jab but it's blocked by Familia.
Familia throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Familia throws a right and a left that Masatoshi avoids nicely.
Familia shoots in but no luck this time.

Masatoshi throws a left that rocks Familia and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Masatoshi dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Familia regain composure!

It looks like Lispen Familia has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Masatoshi looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Familia parries the strikes from Masatoshi easily there. Masatoshi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Familia to escape.
Familia avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Masatoshi.
Familia is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Familia struggling a bit here.
Familia gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Masatoshi is looking to take a break and control but Familia is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Masatoshi throws a right and a left that Familia avoids nicely.
Masatoshi thows a body shot but no joy.
Familia uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Masatoshi.
Masatoshi cracks Familia with a good jab.
Familia avoids the body shot from Masatoshi.
Masatoshi ducks under a wild hook from Familia.
Familia throws a big shot that misses.
Oderus Masatoshi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Masatoshi looks to land a left hand but Familia moved out of range nicely.
Familia takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Lispen Familia's cut is getting worse.
Masatoshi moves out of range of the body kick.
Familia takes one to the side of the head.

Familia looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Masatoshi is fending him off so far but Familia persists. Nope, Masatoshi circles away and we're back to standing.
Familia is looking to clinch.
Familia dodges the punch combination from Masatoshi.
Familia throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
A big right from Masatoshi misses.
Masatoshi throws a looping overhand right but Familia ducks down to avoid it.
Familia bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Familia takes a jab right on the kisser.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Masatoshi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Familia misses with a looping left.
Familia misses with a straight right.
Masatoshi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Familia.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lispen Familia. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Familia is breathing heavily.
Familia uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Masatoshi.

Familia looks to throw the jab but Masatoshi is out of range.
Familia doesn't manage to clinch there - Masatoshi circles away.
Masatoshi takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Masatoshi fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Familia on the side of the head.

Lispen Familia's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Masatoshi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Familia throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Familia takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Masatoshi throws a body punch but Familia moves out of range.
Masatoshi looks to land a combination. Familia sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Masatoshi loads up on a big right hand but Familia slips the punch.

Familia changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Masatoshi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Masatoshi is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
You can see the frustration on Masatoshi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Masatoshi tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Familia is trying to ground and pound but Masatoshi uses the momentary lack of control by Familia to regain half guard.

Familia has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jeez, Lispen Familia's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Masatoshi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Familia counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
