Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zack Mafusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Anderson Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva stuffs the takedown attempt from Mafusa. Mafusa gets slowly back to his feet.

and Mafusa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Silva tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mafusa is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Mafusa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mafusa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mafusa wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Silva has momentary wrist control but Mafusa slips an elbow through the middle.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Silva throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mafusa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

so Mafusa counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Mafusa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mafusa has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.

Mafusa wants to stand but Silva has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mafusa has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Mafusa lands a big shot there that rocks Silva but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Silva knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mafusa on the ground.

Silva sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Zack Mafusa dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Silva has hold of Mafusa's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mafusa manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Silva has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mafusa's face.
Mafusa regains half guard.
Silva is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Mafusa reverses the position - he's now on top in Silva's guard.

Silva working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mafusa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mafusa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mafusa drops back looking for a leg! Silva is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Silva manages to kick Mafusa off! Mafusa jumps back into Silva's guard.

Mafusa looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

I would just about give that final round to Zack Mafusa.
