Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marco Chaves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and thteve thnake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
thnake closes the distance and clinches up with Chaves, looking for a takedown. thnake pushes Chaves against the cage but Chaves circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

thnake closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Chaves to the mat! Chaves manages to get full guard.
thnake stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chaves swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Chaves avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

thnake has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

thnake drops back looking for a leg! Chaves is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Chaves manages to kick thnake off! thnake jumps back into Chaves's guard.

thnake stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chaves swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Chaves is landing with some decent strikes but thnake is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Chaves is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if thnake gets his way!

thnake had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Chaves is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. thnake Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Chaves's back instead.

thnake has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chaves can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

thnake pushes a forearm under Chaves's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Chaves is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
