Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Nelson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ryan Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Allen!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nelson gets caught flat footed, as Allen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Allen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Allen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Allen postures up in Nelson's guard and throws a big left but Nelson blocks it.
Allen is looking to work some ground and pound but Nelson has wrist control.

Allen stops Nelson from getting back to his feet.
Nelson is not content to let Allen control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Allen tries to pass the half guard into mount. Nelson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Nelson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Allen takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Allen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Nelson doesn't manage to clinch there - Allen circles away.
Nelson throws a nice looking combination but Allen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Allen has gone for a leg lock! Nelson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Allen's guard.
Nelson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Allen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nelson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Nelson wants to stand but Allen has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Allen is trying to control the position but Nelson postures up.

Nelson throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
A punch lands to the side of Allen 's head but he takes it in his stride.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nelson leaves Allen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Nelson punishes Allen's body with a nice straight punch.
Nelson stalks Allen and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Allen's face. Allen staggers backwards, shaken.
Nelson has a takedown stuffed.
Nelson throws a head kick but Allen moves out of range.
Nelson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Allen.
Nelson wants to clinch

and Allen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nelson's guard.
Nelson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Allen wants to control from the top but Nelson keeps moving.
Allen tries to free his leg and advance position but Nelson is retaining full guard.

Nelson controls Allen momentarily but Allen frees himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Allen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nelson's waist but Nelson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Allen off to one side.

Allen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Nelson is fending him off so far but Allen persists. Nope, Nelson circles away and we're back to standing.

Mike Allen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Allen is looking for a sweep. Nelson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
