Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damian Uzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Straight Shooter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Damian Uzi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Straight Shooter!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uzi misses with a takedown attempt - Shooter sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Horrible takedown by Uzi or perhaps it was just good defense by Shooter which made him look bad.

Uzi looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Shooter regains full guard. Nicely done.
Uzi looking to sit in guard and control but Shooter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Shooter looking to pass the guard.
Shooter slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Uzi is not content to let Shooter control the position.
Shooter is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Uzi is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Uzi regains half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Shooter is looking to advance position but Uzi won't allow it.
Shooter should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Shooter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Uzi is just riding it out for now. Shooter eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Uzi tries to get to full guard but Shooter has control of the leg.

Uzi is pressing down on Shooter's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Shooter postures up.
Uzi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Uzi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Shooter has gone for a leg lock! Uzi slips out almost immediately though and dives into Shooter's guard.
Uzi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shooter is keeping the position for now.
Uzi is breathing heavily.
Shooter not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Uzi tries to free his leg and advance position but Shooter is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shooter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Shooter showed some decent athleticism there.

Uzi looking for submissions off his back.
Shooter is looking to take a break and control but Uzi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shooter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Uzi wants to sweep but Shooter has passed to side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Shooter landing strikes.
Shooter in side control, throwing shots but Uzi defends.
Shooter trying to control the position but Uzi is working away.
Shooter in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Uzi tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shooter wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Uzi parries the strikes from Shooter easily there. Shooter is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Uzi to escape.
Uzi regains half guard.
Shooter stalling away here and it's allowed Uzi to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Uzi keeping moving, preventing Shooter from controlling successfully.

Uzi working for submissions but it's allowed Shooter to get to half guard.
Shooter not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Shooter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Shooter is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Uzi!

Shooter looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Straight Shooter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Uzi with a poor takedown

and Shooter counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Uzi tries to roll over but Shooter keeps him under control.
Shooter thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Uzi's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Uzi is trying to maintain the position but Shooter is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shooter is keen to just control but Uzi is a slippery customer.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Shooter stalling.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Uzi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Shooter counters with a single leg into guard. Uzi didn't expect that.
Uzi looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Shooter puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Shooter is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Shooter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Shooter works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shooter scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Uzi?
Shooter is landing with some decent strikes but Uzi is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Uzi wants to hold on but Shooter pushes him away.

Shooter avoids the attempt from Uzi to control.
Uzi throwing hammer fists to the chest of Shooter. What's that going to do exactly?

Shooter wants to finish this one by submission but Uzi is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Shooter.

And that's the end of the fight!
Straight Shooter comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Shooter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
