The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kershaw connects with a jab.

Kershaw clinches up with Pearse and pushes him back against the cage.
Pearse working hard to break the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kershaw creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Kershaw breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Good exchange - Kershaw coming out on top.
Kershaw lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kershaw lands a big right hand that sends Pearse crashing to the mat! Kershaw stays standing though and waves Pearse back to his feet!

Pearse is rocked!
Pearse tries to bum rush Kershaw with a series of wild strikes but Kershaw uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pearse is still on wobbly legs! Can Kershaw finish him?

Pearse shoots in and bounces Kershaw off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Pearse seems to have recovered his senses.
Kershaw keeping moving, preventing Pearse from controlling successfully.

Pearse gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pearse moves forwards but Kershaw connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Pearse tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kershaw drops Pearse with a beautiful combination! Pearse stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kershaw is looking for the KO!

It looks like Shawn Pearse has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kershaw grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Pearse takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Kershaw cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!
