Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robert Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Kuchacokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Robert Henry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Kuchacokov!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henry is looking to clinch.

Kuchacokov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Henry's guard.
Kuchacokov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Henry looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Henry is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Henry is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kuchacokov is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Henry is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kuchacokov is looking to work some ground and pound but Henry has wrist control.

Henry uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Henry goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Henry defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kuchacokov.

Henry stuffs the takedown.
Robert Henry seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kuchacokov has Henry up against the cage in a clinch.

Henry manages to break the clinch.
Kuchacokov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Henry.
Henry swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kuchacokov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Henry sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kuchacokov somewhat.
Robert Henry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vladimir Kuchacokov.

Kuchacokov feints and as Henry raises his hands in defense, Kuchacokov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kuchacokov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kuchacokov is pressed up against the cage. Henry has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kuchacokov down to the mat. Kuchacokov avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Henry misses with a straight left.

Kuchacokov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kuchacokov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Henry bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kuchacokov is looking for a triangle but Henry pushes his legs off easily.

Henry wants to pass the guard but Kuchacokov is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kuchacokov looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kuchacokov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kuchacokov takes one to the chin there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Henry is trying to break the clinch but Kuchacokov is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vladimir Kuchacokov dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Kuchacokov fails with the takedown
and Henry counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Vladimir Kuchacokov has been cut.
Kuchacokov shoots and misses
and Henry counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Henry is looking to clinch.
Henry tries to close the distance and clinch but Kuchacokov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Henry throws a series of punches but Kuchacokov avoids them all with ease.
Henry doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Kuchacokov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kuchacokov.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Henry has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Kuchacokov off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

so Kuchacokov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Henry is looking to stand up but Kuchacokov isn't so interested in that idea.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Henry is trying to control the position but Kuchacokov postures up.

Kuchacokov throws a strike but Henry rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Henry connects with a couple of short punches.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Henry thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Henry wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kuchacokov keeps working.

Henry misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Henry is putting a hurting on Kuchacokov here, landing some big shots from side control.

Henry fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kuchacokov sprawls well initially but Henry persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Henry is looking to take a break and control but Kuchacokov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kuchacokov is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Henry asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Henry wants to control but Kuchacokov is keeping him busy.

Henry is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kuchacokov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kuchacokov manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Henry looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Henry frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kuchacokov tries to reverse the position but Henry maintains control.
Henry with a couple of short strikes.
Henry connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Kuchacokov is squirming around, avoiding Henry's attempts to control the action.
Henry scoring with strikes but Kuchacokov is staying in there.
Henry tries to control but Kuchacokov wriggling away.

Henry goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Kuchacokov is on top in guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Henry holds on and takes a little breather.

Henry looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kuchacokov's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Henry manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kuchacokov manages to get himself to full guard.
Henry postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

And that's the end of the fight!
Robert Henry showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Henry has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
