The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lightning shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kostecki is trying to defend but Lightning finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Lightning fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kostecki avoids it really well and circles away.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kostecki connects with a nice short shot to Lightning's temple.

Lightning is refusing to be controlled, as Kostecki sits in half guard.

Lightning changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kostecki looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Kostecki has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lightning is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kostecki.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lightning has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kostecki's face.

Lightning lands with some strikes.

Lightning wants to control the pace but Kostecki is squirming around nicely.

Lightning throws a lazy right hand but Kostecki sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Lightning shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kostecki pinned against the cage. Kostecki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lightning is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kostecki defends it well.

Kostecki stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kostecki wants it to stay on the feet.

Kostecki is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Lightning has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Kostecki is looking to defend but Lightning has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Kostecki! Lightning pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Kostecki taps out and this one is all over!
