PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lord Buddha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crayon Mars (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Lord Buddha has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Lord Buddha seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mars gets the takedown into side control.
Buddha is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Mars working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Mars cracks Buddha with a big right hand but Buddha just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mars looks for the body kick but Buddha saw that one coming.
Mars throws a head kick that misses.

Mars closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mars drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Buddha breaks from the clinch.
Mars lands a nice shot that snaps Buddha's head back.

Mars is trying to drag Buddha to the mat but Buddha just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Buddha prevents a takedown attempt there.
Lord Buddha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Crayon Mars.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Buddha is trying to drag Mars to the mat but Mars just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Buddha misses with a combination

and Mars counters with a single leg into guard. Buddha didn't expect that.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
