Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, B Unit!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Unit looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mir is fending him off so far but Unit persists. Nope, Mir circles away and we're back to standing.
Unit takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mir doesn't manage to clinch there - Unit circles away.

Unit tightens his grip and picks Mir up, before dumping him to the ground. Mir manages to land in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Mir postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Unit looks a forlorn figure.
Unit sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Mir knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Unit on the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Unit has one foot on Mir's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Unit is trying to drag Mir to the mat but Mir just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Unit is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Mir gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Mir with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Mir is looking to stand up but Unit won't let him.
Mir stands up over Unit, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Mir got a little sloppy there for a moment and Unit has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mir has managed to get both his arms back between Unit's legs - danger averted.

Mir postures up in Unit's guard and throws a big left but Unit blocks it.
Unit lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Mir!

Mir tries to lock up and control but Unit gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mir is looking to get to half guard.

Unit is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mir has managed to escape the submission attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mir is mounted and he's throwing punches. Is that wise?
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Unit is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mir to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mir shrugs it off.
Mir swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
