Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Donovyn Penn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Angel Soto!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soto tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Soto shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Soto showed some decent athleticism there.
Soto wants to control but Penn is keeping him busy.
Penn is trying to stand back up but Soto is controlling him
Soto wants to pass the guard but Penn is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Soto trying to control the action but Penn is working from the bottom.
Soto trying to mount his opponent but Penn defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Soto lands a nice short elbow.
Soto trying to mount his opponent but Penn defends it.
Soto is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Penn looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Penn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Penn is looking to clinch but Soto is avoiding it.
Soto fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Penn defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Soto.
Soto shoots for a double leg takedown but Penn sprawls well. He's pushed Soto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Donovyn Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angel Soto.
Soto darts in trying to clinch

and Penn counters by moving into the clinch.
Soto jumps guard but Penn stands there with Soto around his waist. Soto gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Penn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Soto keeps the fight on the outside.

Soto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Soto wants to control the pace but Penn is squirming around nicely.
Soto thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Soto trying to control but Penn is having none of it.

Soto has control of Penn's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Penn regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Penn is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Penn tries to hold on but Soto pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Angel Soto will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Soto misses with a takedown attempt

and Penn counters with a takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Soto's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Penn controlling the position.
Soto is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Soto can't do much from the bottom here.

Penn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Soto, who protects the arm well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Penn working the head and body with strikes.

Penn swings around for an armbar but Soto sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Penn's guard.
Soto wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.

Soto drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Soto as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Penn screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Soto! Nice submission victory there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Angel Soto!
