Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ground Pounder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Steve Harrison enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ground Pounder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steve Harrison!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harrison tries for a takedown but Pounder sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Harrison looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Pounder darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Pounder is taking a breather. Harrison says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Pounder passes to full mount!
Pounder controlling the pace for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Harrison working to try and regain half guard.
Pounder content just to control the position here.
Harrison keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Pounder takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ground Pounder just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Pounder with a jab.

Pounder throws a head kick that misses.
Harrison swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Pounder lands with a thumping leg kick.
Pounder throws a head kick that half lands.
Harrison takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Pounder scores with a decent looking hook.
Pounder jabs at Harrison's body.
Pounder bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pounder scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Harrison doesn't seem bothered though.
Pounder throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Pounder shoots in and bounces Harrison off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Pounder tries to free his leg and advance position but Harrison is retaining full guard.
Pounder seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pounder seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Harrison for as long as he can get away with.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ground Pounder dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Pounder tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Harrison is able to avoid easily.
Pounder lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Harrison is looking to clinch but Pounder is avoiding it.
Harrison checks the leg kick.
Pounder lands with a shot to the body.
Pounder lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Harrison is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Pounder.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Pounder here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Jab, jab by Pounder - just one landing.
Pounder works Harrison's body with a nice hook.
Nice uppercut lands for Pounder. That snapped Harrison's head back.
Pounder thuds his right hand into Harrison's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Harrison takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Steve Harrison is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pounder throws a leg kick which misses Harrison's front leg but catches the back leg as Harrison tries to avoid it.
Pounder changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Pounder throws a quick inside leg kick.
Harrison is breathing heavily.
Harrison doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Pounder chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Pounder throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Pounder thuds a left hand into Harrison's body.
Pounder lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Pounder digs a good hook to Harrison's body.

Pounder sizes up Harrison with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Pounder lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Harrison at a distance.
Harrison closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Pounder lands a jab to Harrison's midsection.
Pounder moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pounder throws a shot to the body.
Ground Pounder is winning the standup battle so far.
Pounder scores with a jab to the body.

Pounder shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Harrison's guard.
Pounder forces his way into half guard.

Pounder decides to return to a standing position.
Pounder is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Harrison can do to turn this around?

Harrison takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Pounder lands with a right hand.

Pounder looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pounder controlling the action here.

Harrison looks like he's trying to stand up.
Pounder frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Pounder looking to control and managing it successfully.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pounder has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ground Pounder dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Pounder comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Harrison takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Pounder connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Harrison's hands.
Pounder is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Pounder tests Harrison's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Pounder scores with a nice body kick.
Pounder throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Harrison stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pounder slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
An inside leg kick lands from Pounder.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Pounder.
Harrison takes a jab right on the kisser.
Pounder lands a lovely overhand right.
Pounder is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Pounder fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Harrison sprawls well initially but Pounder persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Pounder works his foot free and advances to mount.

Pounder will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Harrison is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pounder takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well Pounder has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
