Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fred Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Hansen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Fred Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ken Hansen!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Hansen shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Hansen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jones fails to land with a series of punches.

Hansen clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage.
Hansen is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Hansen gets control of Jones's arms and successfully pulls guard. Hansen will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hansen has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hansen controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.

Hansen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hansen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Hansen's legs - danger averted.

Hansen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Hansen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hansen is trying to control the action in half guard but Jones is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hansen throws a strike but Jones avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Hansen won't allow Jones to get back to his feet.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hansen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hansen wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.

Hansen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hansen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jones's guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Jones slips under a jab from Hansen.
Hansen looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.
Jones comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Jones looks to land a right hand but Hansen moved out of range.
Jones scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hansen doesn't seem bothered though.
Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Hansen tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jones misses with a hook. Hansen ducked under it nicely.

Hansen closes the distance and clinches.
Hansen is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jones is defending well for now.

Hansen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Fred Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Hansen.
Jones manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Hansen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet.

Jones takes a swing at Hansen's ribcage but misses.
Jones throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jones throws a leg kick which misses Hansen's front leg but catches the back leg as Hansen tries to avoid it.

Jones lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall.

Hansen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jones pulls his head out easily.
Hansen is refusing to be controlled, as Jones sits in half guard.
Jones wants to stand but Hansen has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hansen keeps working.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ken Hansen.
I think Hansen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
