PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randall Greene (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Kain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kain is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Irresponsible Hate Anthem. Randall Greene had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randall Greene!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Kain!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Greene shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kain but Kain pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Greene swats away the attempt to clinch by Kain.
Kain moves out of range of the strikes.

Greene lands a big head kick that sends Kain tumbling to the mat! Greene takes a step backwards and waves Kain back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Kain is rocked!


It looks like Jason Kain has been cut.
Greene tries to clinch but Kain moves out of range.
Kain is still on wobbly legs! Can Greene finish him?

Kain darts in and clinches Greene up against the cage.
Kain seems to have recovered his senses.
Greene fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Kain looking to stall.

Kain jumps into guard, dragging Greene to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kain is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kain tries to stand but can't do so whilst Greene controls his leg.

Still in half guard, Kain seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Greene is looking for a sweep. Kain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kain seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Greene does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kain has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kain throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Greene is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Kain sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Greene is desperately trying to improve his position but Kain has a good base and remains in mount.

Kain with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Kain wants to control the pace but Greene is squirming around nicely.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kain wants to finish this one by submission but Greene is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kain.

Greene is desperately trying to improve his position but Kain has a good base and remains in mount.

Kain lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Greene changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kain tries to avoid it but Greene manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kain to the ground. Kain escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kain fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Greene sprawls well initially but Kain persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Greene tries to close the distance and clinch but Kain swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kain leaves Greene with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kain thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Greene if he has to take too many more of those.

Greene knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kain on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kain prevents Greene from getting the reversal.
Kain looking to control but Greene is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Jason Kain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kain shoots in but Greene avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Randall Greene has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Kain.

Kain shoots in but Greene avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Greene is trying to control the position but Kain postures up.

Kain is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Greene sees it coming and defends easily.
Greene is not content to let Kain control the position.

Kain stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Kain shoots in but Greene avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kain looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Greene is fending him off so far but Kain persists. Nope, Greene circles away and we're back to standing.
Kain fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Greene avoids it really well and circles away.
Nice body kick there by Kain.
A head kick misses from Kain.
Horrible takedown by Kain or perhaps it was just good defense by Greene which made him look bad.
Kain shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Greene sprawls well. Greene wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kain gets slowly back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Jason Kain.
I think Kain has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
