Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maurizio Marchetti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Rockfist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Maurizio Marchetti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lee Rockfist!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marchetti keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Marchetti throws a right and a left that both miss.
Marchetti avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Marchetti closes the distance but Rockfist moves to the side

and Rockfist counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rockfist.
Marchetti tries to land knees in the clinch but Rockfist avoids the damage to the body.
Marchetti fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Marchetti misses with a hook from the clinch.

Rockfist pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rockfist is looking to land body kicks.
Marchetti fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

so Marchetti counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Rockfist wants to sweep but no luck.
Marchetti wants to control from the top but Rockfist keeps moving.

Rockfist escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marchetti gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rockfist has control of Marchetti's left arm, preventing Marchetti from doing any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Marchetti is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Rockfist looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Rockfist tries for a takedown but Marchetti circles away easily

and Marchetti counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Marchetti stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rockfist swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Marchetti wants to control from the top but Rockfist keeps moving.
Marchetti is fighting to break Rockfist's control of his arms but Rockfist is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Rockfist is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Rockfist has Marchetti pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Marchetti manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Marchetti is trying to maintain the position but Rockfist is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Maurizio Marchetti will probably get the nod.

Rockfist has clasped his hands together around Marchetti's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Marchetti is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Rockfist asserts his dominance and retains side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Marchetti wants to clinch up but Rockfist keeps it at a distance.

Lee Rockfist showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Rockfist. Marchetti shrugs it off though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Maurizio Marchetti.
I think Marchetti has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
