Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renato Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Prince Vasquel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes to the cage accompanied by Ultimate Victory. Vasquel comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Halo-Street Fighter kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Prince Vasquel struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Vasquel.
Alves gets back to half guard.
Alves trying to hold on to Vasquel's head to control him but Vasquel postures up.

Vasquel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Alves's guard.

Vasquel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Alves works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vasquel had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alves defends it easily.

Alves wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vasquel, who protects the arm well.

That was a close round but I would say that Renato Alves will probably get the nod.
