Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Woodhall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wilson Gouveia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wilson Gouveia is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Peter Woodhall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Wilson Gouveia!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woodhall throws a leg kick but Gouveia sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Gouveia stuffs the takedown attempt from Woodhall. Woodhall gets slowly back to his feet.
Gouveia is looking to clinch.
Woodhall throws a nice looking combination but Gouveia bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Woodhall scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

and Woodhall counters by moving into the clinch.
Woodhall tries to stall but Gouveia uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Gouveia landing knees to the body.
Woodhall drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gouveia pulls his leg out and moves away.

Woodhall shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Woodhall was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Woodhall swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Gouveia is now in Woodhall's guard. A big mistake from Woodhall there, giving up the dominant position!
Gouveia prevents Woodhall from getting back to his feet.

Woodhall looking for a sweep. Not yet Woodhall, not yet.

Gouveia drops back looking for a leg! Woodhall is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Woodhall manages to kick Gouveia off! Gouveia jumps back into Woodhall's guard.

Gouveia decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Woodhall throws a shot from downtown. Gouveia moves away and avoids it.

Woodhall looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Gouveia tries to free his leg and advance position but Woodhall is retaining full guard.
Woodhall is trying to keep Gouveia in close.
Gouveia is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Gouveia drops back, looking for a kneebar! Woodhall looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Woodhall looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Woodhall!
Woodhall wants to control for a moment but Gouveia uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Gouveia is trying to control the action in half guard but Woodhall is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Woodhall manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Gouveia controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Gouveia wants to control from the top but Woodhall keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gouveia content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Gouveia decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Woodhall, up you get!

Woodhall lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Woodhall tries to clinch
and Gouveia counters with an inside leg kick.

and Gouveia decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Woodhall's guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Peter Woodhall. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Woodhall is trying to control the position but Gouveia postures up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Woodhall has his foot on Gouveia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gouveia works his way back into a safe position though.
Woodhall wants to sweep but no luck.

Woodhall looking for a guillotine here but Gouveia defends easily.

Woodhall escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gouveia gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Wilson Gouveia will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Woodhall shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Woodhall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gouveia keeps working.
Gouveia gets back to full guard.

Woodhall gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gouveia.
Gouveia is breathing heavily.
Woodhall shoots in but no luck this time.

Gouveia works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Woodhall working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gouveia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gouveia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Woodhall has his foot on Gouveia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gouveia works his way back into a safe position though.
Woodhall is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

and Gouveia counters with a single leg into guard. Woodhall didn't expect that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gouveia tries to pass to full mount but Woodhall defends it.
Gouveia landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Gouveia decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Gouveia creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Gouveia cracks Woodhall with a big elbow.
Woodhall gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Woodhall tries to lock up and control but Gouveia gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Wilson Gouveia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Gouveia feints and as Woodhall raises his hands in defense, Gouveia changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gouveia is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Gouveia gets to his feet - Woodhall follows without any prompting.
Gouveia circles away from the clinch attempt.

Gouveia has closed the distance and engaged Woodhall in a clinch.

Gouveia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Woodhall looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Woodhall is trying to keep Gouveia in close.
Gouveia wants to control from the top but Woodhall keeps moving.

Gouveia not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

and Gouveia counters with a nice low kick that buckles Woodhall's knee momentarily.

Woodhall decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Peter Woodhall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Woodhall is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Wilson Gouveia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Gouveia winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
