Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Uriel Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones is looking to clinch but Angel is avoiding it.
Jones looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jones throws a right and a left that Angel avoids nicely.

Angel moves into range and clinches up with Jones.
Angel lands a body shot in the clinch.

Angel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Angel throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jones on the side of the head.

Angel throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Angel closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.
Angel connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jones's hands.
Jones chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Angel can pounce on him.

Xavier Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Angel shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jones napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Angel is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Angel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Angel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jones's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Angel.
Angel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Angel lands a head kick. Jones smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Horrible takedown by Angel or perhaps it was just good defense by Jones which made him look bad.
No joy there for Angel, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Angel turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Jones takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jones takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Angel is aware though and is defending well.
