Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Tanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Salizar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tanner comes to the cage accompanied by Wasted remix. Salizar has chosen Fortunate Son as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Pablo Salizar has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pablo Salizar!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanner moves out of range of the body kick from Salizar.
Tanner lands a two punch combo.
Salizar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tanner tries to avoid it but Salizar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tanner to the ground. Tanner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Salizar feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Tanner is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Salizar is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Salizar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tanner swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tanner knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Salizar on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Tanner would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Salizar lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Tanner!

Salizar jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tanner is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tanner and Salizar has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

and Tanner counters with a three punch combo that has Salizar backing up. Salizar nods at Tanner to acknowledge the strikes.

Tanner is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Salizar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tanner moves away.

Pablo Salizar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tanner thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Salizar if he has to take too many more of those.
