Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Danny Trejo!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trejo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Trejo looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Phoenix is fending him off so far but Trejo persists. Nope, Phoenix circles away and we're back to standing.
Trejo dives in and grabs Phoenix's left leg, looking for a takedown. Phoenix pushes down on Trejo's head and hops out.
Super Phoenix has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danny Trejo.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Trejo.
Danny Trejo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Trejo fails to land the takedown.
Phoenix looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Phoenix makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Trejo has his foot on Phoenix's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Phoenix works his way back into a safe position though.

Phoenix trying to control the position from guard on top but Trejo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Phoenix advances to half guard.
Trejo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Phoenix pulls his head out easily.
Phoenix is controlling the pace.
Trejo is staying active underneath Phoenix, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Phoenix works his way into side control.
Phoenix knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Trejo on the ground.
Phoenix in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
A lull in the action here as Phoenix stalls from top position.

Phoenix fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Phoenix wants to control but Trejo is keeping him busy.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Phoenix shoots in for a double leg but Trejo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Phoenix scores a takedown into full mount!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Trejo is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Trejo manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Trejo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Phoenix's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Phoenix's back!
Trejo sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Phoenix taps out!
