Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paulao Filho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruno Maia told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maia looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Filho looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Maia slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Filho keeping full guard, as Maia tries to pass.
Maia controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Filho can't keep his opponent in guard - Maia advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

I looks like Maia might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Maia works his foot free and advances to mount.

Filho keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Maia trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Maia fails to move to back control.
Filho has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Maia controlling the positon.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Maia throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
Maia is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Maia is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Filho has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Maia is persistently looking for the submission but Filho is defending it well.
Maia slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Maia has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Filho! Can he survive? No! He's out! Maia gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
