Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryley Spencer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez tries to clinch but Spencer is having none of it.
Ramirez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Spencer is fending him off so far but Ramirez persists. Nope, Spencer circles away and we're back to standing.
Spencer lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Ramirez tries to clinch but Spencer is having none of it.

Spencer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Spencer has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ramirez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Spencer successfully pulls guard.
Ramirez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Ramirez wanted to stand there but Spencer had control of the position.

Spencer looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ramirez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Spencer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Spencer is pulling down on Ramirez's head. It's preventing any offense from Ramirez, at least for the moment.
Spencer keeping moving, preventing Ramirez from controlling successfully.
Ramirez wants to get up but he can't break Spencer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Spencer might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Ramirez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Spencer avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Spencer throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ramirez misses with a head kick.
Spencer scores with a jab. Ramirez acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Ramirez shoots in for a double leg but Spencer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ramirez looks gassed!
Spencer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Ramirez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Spencer circles away.
Ryley Spencer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Ramirez.

Spencer clinches with his opponent.

Spencer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ramirez.
Spencer scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ramirez in his tracks.
Spencer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Spencer counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Ramirez is trying to maintain the position but Spencer is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Spencer is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Ramirez is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
