The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - The dealer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Vera shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Vera showed some decent athleticism there.

The dealer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vera is working away from the top position though.

Vera wants to stand but The dealer has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vera shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. The dealer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Vera has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The dealer is fighting off a takedown attempt but Vera is just too persistent for him and manages to trip The dealer to the mat. The dealer regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The dealer takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The dealer tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The dealer is trying to control Vera's posture but Vera avoids it.
The dealer tries to buck Vera off but Vera is having none of it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Vera has hold of The dealer's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! The dealer tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Vera cranks the arm and The dealer screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from The dealer, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
