Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shiro Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans has chosen "Shake 'Em On Down" by RL Burnside as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shiro Nakamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Freddy Evans!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura misses with a takedown attempt - Evans sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nakamura really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Evans keeps the fight on the outside.
Nakamura fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Evans slips a jab and a cross from Nakamura.

Evans clinches up with Nakamura and pushes him back against the ropes.

Evans manages to break the clinch.
Nakamura shoots in for a takedown but Evans shows good takedown defense.

Evans fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nakamura sprawls well initially but Evans persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Nakamura pushes Evans off looking to stand but Evans dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

so Evans counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Evans decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Nakamura is staying active underneath Evans, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Nakamura tries to get to full guard but Evans has control of the leg.
Evans is looking to take a break and control but Nakamura is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Evans is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nakamura doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Evans.

Evans stands and steps away. Nakamura gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Evans jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Nakamura manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Nakamura manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Nakamura wants to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Nakamura closes the distance looking to clinch

and Evans counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Nakamura's guard now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Evans shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Evans was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Evans changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nakamura looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Evans is looking to take a break and control but Nakamura is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nakamura is looking to regain half guard here but Evans keeps moving and retains side control.

Evans has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nakamura tries to lock up and control but Evans gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
