Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Dirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Jackson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Dirt!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dirt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Horrible takedown by Jackson or perhaps it was just good defense by Dirt which made him look bad.

Jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Dirt utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Dirt has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jackson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dirt walks away with a smile on his face. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jackson has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Jackson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A lazy left from Jackson finds it's target.
Jackson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dirt but Dirt pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Dirt pushes Jackson off looking to stand but Jackson dives back in and keeps control.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Dirt is defending well.

Jackson seems to be working for a kimura but Dirt defends the submission attempt.

Dirt moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dirt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dirt wants to stand up but Jackson is controlling him.

Jackson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dirt dives on top into guard.

Jackson is working an open guard so Dirt takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Dirt darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Dirt stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Jackson to get to his feet.
Jack Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Dirt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jackson sprawls well. Jackson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dirt gets slowly back to his feet.

Dirt darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Dirt throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dirt looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dirt is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jackson is just riding it out for now. Dirt eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Dirt dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Jackson shoots for a takedown but Dirt saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jackson throws a head kick but Dirt moves out of range.
Dirt throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Dirt throws a sloppy head kick and Jackson moves out of range easily.

Jackson is trying to stand up here but Dirt is controlling him well.

Jackson is staying active underneath Dirt, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Dirt shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Dirt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Jackson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dirt manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Dirt rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jackson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jack Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dirt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Dirt shoots in and bounces Jackson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Dirt moves into range and clinches up with Jackson.
Dirt wants to break the clinch but can't.

Dirt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jackson stuns Dirt with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Jackson scores with a three punch combo!
Dirt misses with a few strikes there.

Dirt gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Dirt wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Dirt pushes Jackson off and scrambles back to his feet.
Jackson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Dirt on that attempt.

Jackson postures up in Dirt's guard and throws a big left but Dirt blocks it.

Dirt drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jackson pulls his leg out and moves away.

Dirt pulls Jackson in close to his closed guard and prevents Jackson from doing any damage or advancing position.

Jackson decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Dirt moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Dirt is controlling Jackson's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Dirt is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Jackson.
Well Dirt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
