He has the power to get to Mike Steven's chin.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Steven!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steven shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Keynes but Keynes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Steven doesn't manage to clinch there - Keynes circles away.
Horrible takedown by Steven or perhaps it was just good defense by Keynes which made him look bad.
Steven is looking to clinch.
Steven tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Steven has taken the fight to the clinch.
Steven struggles to land a body shot inside as Keynes controls his hands.
Steven throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
A head punch on the inside from Keynes fails to land.
Steven has Keynes pressed against the cage, preventing Keynes from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Keynes lands a shot to the body.
Steven drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Keynes gets the underhooks and prevents it.
John Keynes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Steven.
Keynes scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Keynes doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Keynes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Steven tries to break free but Keynes pushes him back against the cage.
Steven tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Keynes just stands there and leans against the cage.

Keynes lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Keynes lands with a short shot to the head.
Keynes lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Steven blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Keynes swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Steven breaks from the clinch.
Keynes misses with a low kick.

Steven drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Steven stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Keynes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Keynes is looking to sinch up a triangle. Steven throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Keynes's body to avoid the submission. Keynes has instead reached around Steven's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Keynes arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). John Keynes!
