The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Smith shoots in but no luck this time.
Ribeiro scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Ribeiro feints and then cracks Smith's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Smith down.
Left hook, right uppercut from Ribeiro.
Smith fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clyde Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ribeiro as he avoids it easily.
Smith tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ribeiro swivels and escapes.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ribeiro, right into the meat.
Smith is breathing heavily.
An inside leg kick lands from Ribeiro.
Ribeiro lands with a big left! Smith is wobbled badly! Ribeiro comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Smith to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
