And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Evans!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams keeps the fight on the outside.
Evans looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Williams throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Evans misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Williams counters with a left and a right that stings Evans.
Williams throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Good shot there by Evans.
Williams tries to bum rush Evans with a series of wild strikes but Evans uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Williams doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Evans fails with a takedown attempt.
Rob Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams fails to land with a series of punches.

Evans takes a swing at Williams's ribcage but misses.
Williams throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Evans throws the left hand but Williams avoids the punch easily.
Evans fails with a takedown attempt.

and Williams counters with a low kick, right behind Evans 's knee.

Williams decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Evans shoots in for a double leg but Williams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Evans fails to land the takedown.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Williams tries to keep at a distance but Evans has taken the fight into the clinch.

Evans breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Williams dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Williams tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Williams lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Evans at a distance.
Evans clinches but Williams breaks the clinch
and Williams counters with a leg kick.
Williams steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Evans.
Williams takes one on the button.
Evans is looking to clinch.
Williams fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Evans swings for the body but Williams moves out of range.
Rob Williams is winning the standup battle so far.
Evans throws a big shot that misses.
Williams throws a right and a left that Evans avoids nicely.

Evans tries to close the distance and clinch but Williams swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fighters circling - Williams throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Evans shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Williams pinned against the cage. Williams gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Williams jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Evans walks away with a smile on his face. Williams gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Williams lands with a nice combination. Evans backs away looking to recover.

Williams gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Evans loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Evans looking to pass the guard.
Williams avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Evans pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Williams is keeping the position for now.
Evans looking to sit in guard and control but Williams gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williams stays in close to Evans's body and controls the position.
Williams trying to stand up but can't free himself from Evans's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Evans moves into the clinch successfully.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Evans has Williams pressed against the cage, preventing Williams from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Williams tries to circle away but Evans has him pinned against the cage.
Williams tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Evans prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Williams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Evans looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Williams!
Evans looking to ground and pound but Williams is blocking nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rob Williams will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Williams's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Williams duly obliges.
Evans is looking to clinch.
Evans avoids a punch combination nicely.
Williams jabs Evans right on the nose. Evans blinks but takes it well.
Evans takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Williams throws a series of punches but Evans moves out of range.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Williams here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Evans shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Evans looking for a submission but Williams manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Williams is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Evans trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Evans trying to move into half guard but instead Williams has managed to sweep!
Rob Williams is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Williams controls from within his opponent's guard.

Williams has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Evans is proving hard to escape from.
Evans is adopting a defensive guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Williams wants to stand but Evans has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Rob Evans has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Evans tries to land a sweep but no joy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rob Williams showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Williams, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
