Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack O Neill!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Sam Margolis and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beer gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows O Neill to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
O Neill trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
O Neill won't allow Beer to get back to his feet.
O Neill postures up in Beer's guard and throws a big left but Beer blocks it.
Beer keeping moving, preventing O Neill from controlling successfully.
Beer wants to sweep but no luck.
O Neill postures up.
Beer controlling the position.
O Neill wants to pass the guard but Beer is keeping the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Beer is looking to clinch but O Neill is avoiding it.
O Neill closes this distance looking for a takedown but Beer circles away.
O Neill avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Beer has his takedown stuffed

and O Neill counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Beer trying to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
O Neill trying to control but Beer is working from the bottom.
O Neill is in close to Beer's body, working some short punches and elbows.
O Neill trying to control the position from guard on top but Beer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Beer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

O Neill really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Beer is trying to keep O Neill in close.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Beer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
O Neill looks gassed!

O Neill wants to hold on but Beer pushes him away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Beer wants to control the pace but O Neill is squirming around nicely.
O Neill working to try and regain half guard.
Beer trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


O Neill fails with the takedown.
Beer wants to clinch but O Neill slips to the side

and O Neill counters with a shoot takedown. Beer fights it but they end up in guard.

Beer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but O Neill can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Beer has his feet on O Neill's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Beer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and O Neill counters with a nice double leg into guard.
O Neill thows a big elbow that misses.
O Neill loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
O Neill looking to sit in guard and control but Beer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

O Neill has Beer pulled in close to control his posture.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if O Neill can do anything to dispel that myth.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Beer throwing strikes from guard but O Neill blocks nicely.

Beer wants to control from the top but O Neill keeps moving.
Beer wants to pass the guard but O Neill is keeping the position.
Beer would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

O Neill dives in and grabs Beer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Beer pushes down on O Neill's head and hops out.

Jack O Neill showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Beer stuffs the takedown attempt from O Neill. O Neill gets slowly back to his feet.
Beer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but O Neill moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
O Neill fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Beer shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with O Neill but O Neill pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Beer wants to clinch

and O Neill counters with a single leg into guard. Beer didn't expect that.
O Neill seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Beer wants to stand and escape but O Neill is having none of it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Beer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as O Neill accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Beer controls O Neill momentarily but O Neill frees himself.
O Neill throws and elbow that misses. Beer uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in O Neill's guard. Nice move by Beer!
O Neill not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Beer throws a sloppy head kick and O Neill moves out of range easily.
O Neill fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Daniel Beer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack O Neill.
O Neill looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Beer displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from O Neill.
Beer tries to clinch but O Neill is having none of it.

O Neill fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Beer sprawls well initially but O Neill persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
O Neill thows a huge punch but Beer dodges it nicely.

O Neill seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Beer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
O Neill lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

O Neill wants to control but Beer is keeping him busy.
O Neill drops an elbow to the side of Beer's head.

Beer pushes O Neill off and gets back to his feet.
Daniel Beer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Beer. No joy for O Neill on that attempt.

Beer moves into the clinch successfully.

Beer gets underhooks to prevent O Neill's takedown attempt.
Beer throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but O Neill blocks it with crossed arms.
Beer is trying to break the clinch but O Neill is controlling him.

Beer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
O Neill has a takedown stuffed.
O Neill dives in and grabs Beer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Beer pushes down on O Neill's head and hops out.
Beer tries a head kick but it misses.
O Neill shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Beer but Beer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
O Neill fails with the takedown
and Beer counters with a leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack O Neill comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got O Neill winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
