PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between cain velazques (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and homer simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). simpson has chosen spider pig as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. homer simpson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
simpson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says velazques as he avoids it easily.
simpson throws a nice looking combination but velazques bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
simpson swinging wildly here.
simpson misses with a jab, cross combination.
simpson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but velazques circles away quickly and effectively.
simpson takes a kick to the side of the head.

velazques feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
velazques could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

velazques looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks simpson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
simpson is trying to get back to full guard.

velazques uses his free foot to push down on simpson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for simpson.
simpson is working to get back to half guard.

velazques has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of simpson's face.
