The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
sinclair closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dat circles away.
Dat fails with the takedown

and sinclair counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
sinclair wants to control but Dat is keeping him busy.

Dat escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. sinclair gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
sinclair stands and throws Dat's legs to the side, diving into side control.

sinclair decides to stand back up. sinclair steps back and let's Dat get back to his feet.

Dat gets caught flat footed, as sinclair shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

sinclair shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dat manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Dat can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as sinclair controls the pace.

sinclair feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
sinclair has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
sinclair seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dat for as long as he can get away with.
