PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Stein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chase Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stein comes into the arena with Rolling Stones - Paint it Black blaring out of the sound system. Storm is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Pantera (Walk). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chase Storm!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Storm, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Chase Storm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stein missing with a left hand there. Storm was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Storm throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stein.
Storm keeps the fight on the outside.
Stein moves forwards but Storm connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Storm stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Storm fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Stein on the side of the head.
Stein looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Storm lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Storm.
Storm moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Storm's corner calls for a 1-2. Storm obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Storm has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stein can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Stein throws and elbow that misses. Storm uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stein's guard. Nice move by Storm!

Storm sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stein's guard.
Stein is trying to maintain the position but Storm is very close to passing his half guard.

Stein knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Storm on the ground.

Stein drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Storm manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stein has Storm in his guard.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Storm. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close second round but I would say that John Stein will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Storm is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Stein rolls with it to try and escape but Storm cranks on the arm and Stein is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
