Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AB Sly II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Martinez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Nicky Jam - La Gata. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as AB Sly II enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Sly II closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Sly II staying out of range there.
Martinez scores with a nice strike.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sly II wanted to stand there but Martinez had control of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sly II stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Martinez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Martinez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Sly II tries to roll over but Martinez keeps him under control.
Martinez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sly II does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Martinez is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sly II has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sly II!

Sly II wants to pass the guard but Martinez is keeping the position.
Martinez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sly II is one step ahead there.
Martinez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sly II's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sly II bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Martinez's head.
Martinez throws a solid leg kick but Sly II takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Martinez.
Martinez moves in looking to clinch but Sly II pushes him off.

Martinez is squirming around, avoiding Sly II's attempts to control the action.

Sly II can't control as he wanted to and Martinez manages to get the fight back to his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

AB Sly II dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Martinez lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sly II's sensitive parts.

and Martinez counters with a single leg into guard. Sly II didn't expect that.
Sly II can't keep his opponent in guard - Martinez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martinez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sly II with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sly II is staying active underneath Martinez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Martinez lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Martinez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Sly II is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Sly II reaches up to try and control the position but Martinez seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Sly II rolls and tries to escape and now Martinez has his back!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Martinez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Martinez is on top in guard.
Sly II controls Martinez momentarily but Martinez frees himself.

Martinez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sly II knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sly II is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Martinez's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Martinez! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Sly II has tapped! This one is allllll over!
