Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Orlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Millar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darren Millar is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Orlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Darren Millar!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Millar wants to clinch.

Orlov feints and as Millar raises his hands in defense, Orlov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Millar utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Orlov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Millar manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Orlov has Millar in his guard.
Millar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Orlov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Millar trying to control the position from guard on top but Orlov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Orlov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Millar is looking to work some ground and pound but Orlov has wrist control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Orlov counters with a lovely straight right hand!


It looks like Darren Millar has been cut.

Orlov looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Millar!
Millar can't escape the position.

Orlov misses with a head shot.

Orlov jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Millar is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Millar and Orlov has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Millar is looking to regain half guard here but Orlov keeps moving and retains side control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Millar has his foot on Orlov's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Orlov works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Orlov won't allow Millar to sweep him here.

Orlov closes the distance and pushes Millar back into the cage.

Orlov ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Orlov no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Orlov escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Millar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Millar drops back looking for a leg! Orlov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Orlov manages to kick Millar off! Millar jumps back into Orlov's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Millar lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Orlov down.

Orlov takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Millar is looking to take a break and control but Orlov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Darren Millar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Millar connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Millar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Orlov sprawls well. Orlov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Millar gets slowly back to his feet.
Orlov throws an overhand right that lands on Millar's shoulder, as Millar tries to avoid the shot.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Millar seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Millar postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Orlov looks a forlorn figure.

Orlov is bucking up trying to escape but Millar cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Millar is working for a guillotine from mount but Orlov frees his head quite easily.
BOOM! Millar connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Millar is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Millar is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Orlov can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Millar has control of Orlov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Orlov regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Millar is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Orlov can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Millar is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Orlov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Millar moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Orlov has worked his arm free - good work by Orlov!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Orlov is looking for a sweep.
Millar trying to control the action but Orlov is working from the bottom.
Orlov taking punishment in the form of punches.
Millar working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Orlov wants to control but Millar postures up.
Millar trying to control the position but Orlov is working away.
Orlov is looking to reverse the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Orlov manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

I think Millar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
