Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Jameson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stephen Dean is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Jameson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Dean!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jameson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Dean tries to roll over but Jameson keeps him under control.
Jameson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dean is not content to let Jameson control the position.

Dean looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Dean is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jameson pulls his head out easily.
Jameson trying to control from half guard but Dean is working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dean is looking to control Jameson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dean avoid being mounted?
Dean is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Jameson is staying active.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Dean misses with a takedown attempt - Jameson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dean lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jameson circles away quickly and effectively.

Jameson clinches up against the cage.
Dean prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jameson wants to break free but Dean has control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dean tries to pull guard but Jameson won't allow it.

Jameson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Dean regains guard.
Jameson is looking to advance position but Dean has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Jameson can't escape the position.
Jameson slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Jameson looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Jameson is breathing heavily.
Jameson tries to roll over but Dean keeps him under control.
Dean looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Jameson is trying to stand.
Jameson regains full guard. Nicely done.
Dean wants to get up but he can't break Jameson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Jameson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dean is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Dean has eaten all the pies!
Dean passes into half guard.
Jameson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dean is working away from the top position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dean throwing shots but Jameson is blocking nicely.
Dean is trying to control the action in half guard but Jameson is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Jameson wants to improve his position but Dean is controlling well.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dean is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Dean is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jameson has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jameson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Dean misses with a takedown attempt

and Jameson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jameson is looking to take a break and control but Dean is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dean is trying to stand.
Jameson controlling the pace.
Dean is not content to let Jameson control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jameson is taking a breather. Dean says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jameson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Dean knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Jameson decides to return to a standing position.

Dean shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Dean controlling from the full mount.
Jameson tries to reverse the position but Dean maintains control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dean is stalling here but it's allowed Jameson to get half guard.
Jameson is refusing to be controlled, as Dean sits in half guard.
Jameson wants to control but Dean is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Dean stands up from half guard.

Dean moves into the clinch successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jameson putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Dean in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Dean wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Dean has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Jameson uses from the top position.
Jameson slips nicely into half guard.
Dean makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dean.
Dean keeping moving, preventing Jameson from controlling successfully.

Dean pushes Jameson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Jameson has his takedown stuffed

and Dean counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dean lands a nice short elbow.
Jameson misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Jameson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jameson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Dean stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jameson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dean trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jameson's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephen Dean showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Jameson feints and as Dean raises his hands in defense, Jameson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jameson gets to his feet. Dean looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Dean throws a head kick that misses
and Jameson counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Jameson clinches but Dean breaks the clinch

and Dean counters by moving into the clinch.
Dean drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Jameson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Dean can't fight it off and eventually Jameson manages to take the fight to the floor. Dean looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dean not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dean wants to get back to his feet but Jameson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jameson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Dean tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jameson trying to control but Dean is working from the bottom.
Dean is pulling down on Jameson's head to control his posture.

Dean is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jameson is aware though and is defending well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Dean looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jameson tries to clinch

and Dean counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dean.

Jameson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jameson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Dean is looking to stand up but Jameson won't let him.

Jameson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jameson trying to keep a closed guard but Dean is proving a slippery customer.

Dean trying to control but Jameson is working from the bottom.
Jameson is trying to control the position but Dean postures up.
Jameson wants to sweep here but Dean controlling him for the moment.

Dean avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jameson avoids the body shot from Dean.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dean tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jameson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jameson thumps Dean with a low kick.

Dean closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Jameson gets back to half guard.
Jameson manages to get to full guard.
Dean stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jameson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jameson is trying to control the position but Dean postures up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Johnny Jameson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jameson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
