Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cyrille Tixera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Shamroock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ken Shamroock is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamroock throws a head kick but Tixera moves out of range.

Shamroock shoots for a double leg takedown but Tixera sprawls well. He's pushed Shamroock's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Tixera shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shamroock's guard.

Shamroock is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Tixera pulls his head out easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Tixera looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shamroock with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Cyrille Tixera will probably get the nod.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Tixera has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Shamroock is trying to keep an underhook but Tixera manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Tixera seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
