PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ralf Mittendorf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Floro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Floro has chosen Bang - Gorky Park as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ralf Mittendorf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Bruno Floro!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mittendorf tries to bum rush Floro with a series of wild strikes but Floro uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Mittendorf has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mittendorf really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mittendorf has Floro pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Floro manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Mittendorf turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mittendorf manages to end up in side control.
Floro is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mittendorf is controlling him well.
Mittendorf wants to control but Floro is keeping him busy.
Mittendorf fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Mittendorf decides to stand up, so the ref orders Floro to his feet.
Floro misses with the combination.

Floro takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mittendorf throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Floro's head.
Mittendorf misses with a head kick.
Floro will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mittendorf tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Floro throws a nice looking combination but Mittendorf bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Mittendorf shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Floro is looking to control Mittendorf's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Floro avoid being mounted?

Mittendorf decides to return to a standing position.
Floro walks into a stiff left hand from Mittendorf.
Floro leaves Mittendorf with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mittendorf moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Mittendorf rushes Floro and presses him up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Floro gets underhooks to prevent Mittendorf's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ralf Mittendorf. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mittendorf breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mittendorf throws a nice head kick!
Mittendorf shoots in for a takedown but Floro shows good takedown defense.
Mittendorf misses with a head kick.
Mittendorf scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Floro doesn't seem bothered though.
A chopping leg kick lands by Mittendorf.

A combination from Floro does no damage.
Mittendorf lands a head kick. Floro smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Mittendorf throws a right and a left that both miss.
Floro throws a head kick but Mittendorf moves out of range.
Floro looks gassed!
Mittendorf lands a head kick. Floro smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A slapping body kick lands there for Mittendorf.
Floro doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Mittendorf counters with a left to the body.
Mittendorf changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Floro tries to avoid it but Mittendorf manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Floro to the ground. Floro escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ralf Mittendorf dominated that round.

A head kick from Mittendorf lands but Floro takes it in his stride.

Mittendorf has taken the fight to the clinch.

Mittendorf gets control of Floro's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mittendorf will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Mittendorf pushes Floro off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Mittendorf shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Mittendorf looking to control but Floro is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mittendorf will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mittendorf throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Floro is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mittendorf tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mittendorf tries to control but Floro wriggling away.

Mittendorf connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ralf Mittendorf just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Floro throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Mittendorf counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Mittendorf wants to pass the guard but Floro is keeping the position.

Floro is working an open guard so Mittendorf takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Floro closes the distance and clinches.

Mittendorf breaks the clinch.
Ralf Mittendorf is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mittendorf closes the distance and clinches up with Floro, looking for a takedown. Mittendorf pushes Floro against the cage but Floro circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Mittendorf throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mittendorf, as that shot connected.

Mittendorf closes the distance and clinches.
Floro on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Mittendorf.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Floro tries to bum rush Mittendorf with a series of wild strikes but Mittendorf uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Floro takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Floro keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Mittendorf shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Floro napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Floro manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Mittendorf makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mittendorf.
Floro keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mittendorf's head.

Mittendorf pushes Floro off and gets back to his feet.

Mittendorf tries for a takedown but Floro sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Mittendorf throws a nice head kick!
Floro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mittendorf.
Floro takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Floro misses with a jab, cross combination.

Mittendorf closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Floro to the mat! Floro manages to get full guard.
Mittendorf trying to control but Floro is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mittendorf stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Floro swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mittendorf stands up from Floro's guard - Mittendorf perhaps looking for a knockout.
Mittendorf throws a head kick that half lands.
Bruno Floro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Mittendorf rushes Floro and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mittendorf tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Floro smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ralf Mittendorf. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mittendorf lands with a slapping head kick.
Mittendorf fails with a takedown attempt.
Mittendorf goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Floro throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mittendorf counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Floro tries to clinch there but Mittendorf circles away.

Mittendorf closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mittendorf lands in his opponent's guard.

Mittendorf seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mittendorf decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Floro, up you get!

and Mittendorf counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Floro closes the distance looking to clinch
and Mittendorf counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Mittendorf connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mittendorf is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Floro can do to turn this around?
Floro stuffs the takedown attempt from Mittendorf. Mittendorf gets slowly back to his feet.

Floro gets caught flat footed, as Mittendorf shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Mittendorf has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
