Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sam The Cam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vince Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The Cam is trying to keep Thompson in close.
The Cam really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Thompson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Thompson won't allow The Cam to sweep him here.

Thompson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as The Cam sprawls well. The Cam wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Thompson gets slowly back to his feet.

and Thompson counters with a shoot takedown. The Cam fights it but they end up in guard.
Thompson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The Cam working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thompson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thompson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thompson stands and steps away. The Cam gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The Cam is pulling down on Thompson's head. It's preventing any offense from Thompson, at least for the moment.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

The Cam wants to clinch up but Thompson keeps it at a distance.

and Thompson counters with a nice double leg into side control. The Cam won't be happy with that.

Thompson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The Cam shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thompson as he jumps to the side.
Thompson shoots in looking for a takedown. The Cam tries to sprawl out of it but Thompson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. The Cam manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and The Cam counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The Cam is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The fight stays on the outside here - The Cam looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sam The Cam has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vince Thompson.

Thompson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Thompson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in The Cam's guard.
Thompson pushes down on The Cam's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Thompson wants to work for an arm triangle but The Cam is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The Cam is positioning himself well to prevent Thompson advancing to mount.

The Cam is trying to control but Thompson manages to pass to mount!
Thompson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sam The Cam will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The Cam decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The Cam knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thompson on the ground.
Thompson manages to get to full guard.

Thompson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. The Cam gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The Cam won't allow Thompson to get back to his feet.
The Cam wants to control from the top but Thompson keeps moving.
The Cam is really struggling to control Thompson but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Thompson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Thompson wants to sweep here but The Cam controlling him for the moment.
The Cam content to stall in guard here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The Cam stops Thompson from standing up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Thompson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Thompson avoids the attempt from The Cam to control.
Thompson lands a big shot there that rocks The Cam but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
BOOM! Thompson connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The Cam wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Thompson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. The Cam can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The Cam's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Thompson stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
