The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Keane stuffs the takedown attempt from Maka. Maka gets slowly back to his feet.

Keane looks to land a combination but Maka avoids it well.
Maka avoids the head kick by Keane.
Maka tries to score a power double leg takedown but Keane sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maka somewhat.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Keane closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Padraig Keane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maka throws a nice looking combination but Keane bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Maka tries to clinch there but Keane circles away.

Keane lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Keane.

Maka shoots for a takedown but Keane saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Maka shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Keane takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Keane misses with a double jab.
Maka avoids the head kick by Keane.
Keane moves away from the strike by Maka.
Nice sprawl there from Keane as Maka shoots in.
Keane throws a right hand that Maka ducks under and follows up with a left that Maka also avoids with ease.
Keane is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Maka takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Maka is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Keane throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Maka stumbling backwards into the ropes! Maka bounces back off the ropes towards Keane, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Keane lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Keane celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
