Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jason Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce McGoose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Miller has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce McGoose!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGoose goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Jason Miller has been cut.

Miller has closed the distance and engaged McGoose in a clinch.

McGoose gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Miller looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
McGoose controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Miller is trying to control the position but McGoose postures up.

Miller working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McGoose doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McGoose manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
McGoose is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
McGoose trying to control but Miller is working from the bottom.

Miller is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Miller wants to improve his position but instead McGoose has moved into half guard.
Miller has a hand on McGoose's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. McGoose takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Miller squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Miller wants to control but McGoose is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McGoose controlling the pace for now.

McGoose is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
McGoose ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Miller tries to close the distance and clinch but McGoose swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Miller moves in looking to clinch but McGoose pushes him off.
McGoose moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A nice combination there by McGoose.
Miller is breathing heavily.
McGoose stuffs the takedown.

McGoose closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Miller to the mat! Miller manages to get full guard.

Miller not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McGoose stays in close to Miller's body and controls the position.
Miller looking to control.
McGoose controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McGoose stands up and waves to Miller to follow him.

McGoose gets in close and instigates a clinch.

McGoose manages to pull guard.

McGoose wants to get back to his feet but Miller is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

McGoose is pulling down on Miller's head to control his posture.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Miller wants to pass the guard but McGoose is keeping the position.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Jason Miller's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


McGoose lands a jab-cross combination.
McGoose swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Miller misses with a takedown attempt
and McGoose counters with a three punch combo that has Miller backing up. Miller nods at McGoose to acknowledge the strikes.
Miller looks to clinch
and McGoose counters with a lovely shot to the body.
The crowd cheers as McGoose lands an impressive looking overhand right. Miller doesn't seem phased though.
McGoose with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
McGoose swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McGoose throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McGoose works over Miller's head and body with a nice combination.
Jason Miller is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A combination from McGoose does no damage.
McGoose scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


Miller is rocked!
Miller takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Oh Miller is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Miller shoots and misses
and McGoose counters with a two punch combo.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McGoose drops Miller with a beautiful combination! Miller stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - McGoose is looking for the KO!
Miller walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

McGoose has closed the distance and engaged Miller in a clinch.
Miller seems to have got his legs back now.

McGoose breaks from the clinch.
Miller circles away from the clinch attempt.
McGoose lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Bruce McGoose seems to be getting the better of the standup.
McGoose goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
A head kick by Miller misses

and McGoose decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Miller's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McGoose stays in close to Miller's body and controls the position.

McGoose's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

McGoose stands up and waves to Miller to follow him.
McGoose scores with a leg kick.

McGoose closes the distance and clinches.

McGoose jumps guard.

McGoose has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Miller content to stall in guard here.

McGoose looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
McGoose looking for a sweep. Not yet McGoose, not yet.
McGoose is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Miller is controlling him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Miller trying to control the position from guard on top but McGoose is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McGoose has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

McGoose kicks Miller off and gets to his feet.
McGoose throws a one two combo.
McGoose uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Miller has time to react.
McGoose swinging wildly here.
McGoose throws a combination. Miller tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McGoose swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Miller throws a sloppy head kick and McGoose moves out of range easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce McGoose showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



McGoose scores with a takedown into Miller's guard.
Miller looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but McGoose puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
McGoose slows the pace down in half guard.
Bruce McGoose has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Miller tries to roll over but McGoose keeps him under control.

Miller is trying to stand.
McGoose is taking a breather. Miller says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

McGoose is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Miller has managed to free his arm - good work.
McGoose not doing much here.
Bruce McGoose is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Miller is trying to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McGoose controlling the action here.

Despite being in the dominant position, Bruce McGoose just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

McGoose shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
McGoose takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Miller is trying desperately to improve position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Miller tries to control the position but McGoose now has his back.
Good control from McGoose.
You can see the frustration on Miller's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bruce McGoose comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McGoose has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
