Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Giovanni Torregrossa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbi Nakamura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robbi Nakamura has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura dives in and grabs Torregrossa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Torregrossa pushes down on Nakamura's head and hops out.

Torregrossa throws a head kick that misses.
Torregrossa tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nakamura swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Nakamura moves into the clinch successfully.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Nakamura jumps into guard, dragging Torregrossa to the mat.

Nakamura is looking for a triangle but Torregrossa pushes his legs off easily.
Nakamura is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Torregrossa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nakamura on the ground.

Nakamura is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Torregrossa to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Torregrossa shrugs it off.

Nakamura goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Torregrossa is on top in guard.

Nakamura looking to hit a scissor sweep but Torregrossa is one step ahead there.
Torregrossa slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Torregrossa has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Nakamura has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Torregrossa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nakamura has his foot on Torregrossa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Torregrossa works his way back into a safe position though.

Torregrossa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Nakamura has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Torregrossa has managed to get both his arms back between Nakamura's legs - danger averted.

Torregrossa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nakamura moves in looking to clinch but Torregrossa pushes him off.

Torregrossa bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Giovanni Torregrossa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nakamura shoots in for a double leg but Torregrossa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Nakamura closes this distance looking for a takedown but Torregrossa circles away.
Torregrossa pulls out of a head kick attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Torregrossa lands a nice leg kick that just misses Nakamura's sensitive parts.

Torregrossa tries to break free but Nakamura pushes him back against the cage.

Torregrossa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Torregrossa closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Torregrossa wants to clinch but Nakamura slips to the side

and Nakamura counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Torregrossa!

Nakamura working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Torregrossa turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Nakamura off and cradles Torregrossa's limp body as Nakamura celebrates with his corner.
