David comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Braveheart Theme kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Phil Maycock has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maycock blocks a head kick by David.

Maycock gets the takedown into side control.

Maycock is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, David has escaped the position, nice work there.
David wants to get back to his feet but Maycock drags him back down.
David really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maycock. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
David tries to buck Maycock off but Maycock is having none of it.

Maycock is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, David has escaped the position, nice work there.
Maycock really is a fat lump.
David is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Maycock has just dragged him back down to the mat.
David is trying to get back to half guard.
Maycock trying to control the position but David is working away.
Maycock is breathing heavily.
David is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Maycock shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says David as he avoids it easily.

Maycock misses with a takedown attempt - David sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
David drops Maycock with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Maycock looks back up at him and smiles so David waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Maycock is rocked!

It looks like Phil Maycock has been cut.
David with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Oh Maycock is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
David misses with the combination.

Maycock gets the takedown into side control.
Maycock seems to have got his legs back now.
David is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Maycock tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Maycock has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
David tries to buck Maycock off but Maycock is having none of it.

Maycock is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. David knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Maycock is looking to take a break and control but David is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
