Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kelvin Day!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson lands a jab-cross combination.
Day shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jackson but Jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A solid body kick from Jackson.

Jackson closes the distance and clinches.
Jackson tries to score a body lock takedown but Day shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Jackson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Day is defending well for now.
Jackson presses Day against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Day tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Jackson jumps into guard, dragging Day to the mat.

Jackson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackson keeping moving, preventing Day from controlling successfully.
Day controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Jackson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Day doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Day manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Day wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.
Day trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Day slips nicely into half guard.
Day wants to pass to mount but Jackson is defending the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jackson is trying to maintain the position but Day is very close to passing his half guard.
Day blocks the strikes from Jackson.
Jackson trying to get back to full guard but Day takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Day fails to advance to Jackson's back.

Day is working for a guillotine from mount but Jackson frees his head quite easily.
Jackson working to try and regain half guard.

Day moves to the back.
Jackson trying to control the hands but Day breaks the grip.
Jackson is really stuck here.
Jackson is keeping busy.

Day looking for the choke from the back.
Day looks gassed!
Day trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Day lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Day.
Jackson trying to control the position but Day manages to sink in the hooks.
Jackson is trying to break free.

Day keeps control of the position as Jackson tries to break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jon Jackson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Day fails with the takedown.
Day takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jon Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Day feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jackson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Day is aware though and is defending well.
Day pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jackson is keeping the position for now.

Jackson is looking to sinch up a triangle. Day throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jackson's body to avoid the submission. Jackson has instead reached around Day's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jackson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jon Jackson!
