PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Damian Swertz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roger Simmons will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Swertz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Simmons sprawls well initially but Swertz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Swertz is trying to control the action in half guard but Simmons is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Swertz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Simmons is just riding it out for now. Swertz eventually gives up the hold.

Swertz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Simmons defends it easily.

Simmons stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Swertz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Swertz holds on and takes a little breather.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

I would just about give that final round to Roger Simmons.
