The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hodges throws a head kick but Jackson moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hodges looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jackson is looking to reverse the position.
Jackson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jackson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hodges is trying to control. Jackson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Jackson pushes Hodges off looking to stand but Hodges dives back in and keeps control.

Hodges shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jackson as he jumps to the side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Roosevelt Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hodges tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jackson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Jackson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hodges was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackson.

Hodges wants to clinch up but Jackson keeps it at a distance.

Jackson throws a hook but Hodges blocks it.
Hodges takes one on the button.
Hodges will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hodges tries to clinch up but Jackson circles away and keeps his distance.
Hodges fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
